Shift management with proof

Know the opening actually got done

StaffSumo runs your schedule, your time clock and your opening and closing routines — and asks for a photo, a reading or a note instead of a tick. You find out at 6am, not when a customer tells you.

One app for the whole shift

The schedule, the clock and the standard in one place

Three tools that usually live in three products, and a printed sheet nobody keeps. Putting them together is what lets a shift refuse to close until the work is genuinely finished.

01 Before the shift

Build the week in minutes

Copy last week, fill gaps with open shifts anyone can claim, and publish once. Everyone is notified; nobody is texting to ask.

02 At the door

Punches you can defend

A shared kiosk with PIN entry, or a phone punch with GPS. Every punch records its accuracy, so a near miss is not silently called a lie.

03 Once it is running

Proof instead of a tick

A live photo, a reading in range, or a note. Review what came in, approve it or flag it with a reason the person sees next time they clock in.

Why proof matters

A tick tells you someone tapped their phone

Every checklist app on the market records who ticked a box and when. That is a claim about the work, not the work. It is also the number one thing owners tell us they stopped trusting after a month.

  • Live camera only — the photo library is never reachable, so a photo is from this shift, at this place
  • Numbers are checked against a range, so a fridge at 48°F cannot be recorded as fine
  • A golden reference photo shows what good looks like, so new staff are not guessing
  • Hand in incomplete with a stated reason — better an honest gap than a false tick

The clock-out gate

The shift will not close with the checklist unfinished

This is the join that a separate scheduling app and a separate checklist app can never make. If a closing routine is assigned to the shift, clocking out asks for it first — and an unfinished hand-in has to say why.

Nobody has to police it. The person who was there closes it out while they are still standing in the room, and the manager reviews a queue in the morning instead of reconstructing the night.

Made for shift work, not adapted to it

The routine that has to be verified is different in every trade. The pattern — open, run, close, prove it — is the same one everywhere.

Questions

Straight answers before you switch

What makes StaffSumo different from other scheduling apps?

Most apps record a task as done when somebody taps a box. StaffSumo records a live-camera photo, a number that has to fall in range, or a written note — so an opening checklist produces evidence rather than a claim. Scheduling and the time clock are here too, and they are good, but the proof is the reason to move.

Can staff upload a photo from their camera roll?

No. The camera opens and the photo library is never reachable. That single rule is what makes a proof photo worth anything, and it is enforced in the app rather than by policy.

Do you do scheduling and time tracking as well?

Yes — shift scheduling with open shifts, swaps and copy-week, plus a time clock with GPS verification and a shared kiosk mode with PIN entry. A shift cannot be closed with its checklist unfinished, which is where the two halves meet.

How does pricing work?

A flat price per location, not per employee. Hiring your tenth barista does not change the bill, so nobody has to think about the invoice when they think about the roster.

Can I move my schedule over from another app?

Yes. Import a shift CSV exported from your current tool and the people, positions and shifts come across. The page layout here follows the same conventions, which is deliberate — nobody should have to relearn a scheduler to change one.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You export it and we delete it. Shifts, punches, checklist runs and the proof photos are all yours, and there is no retention hold designed to make leaving inconvenient.
