Why the rule comes first
Shift checklists have existed for years and mostly record a tap. Owners stop trusting them in about a month, which is roughly how long it takes to notice a list completed in ninety seconds from a car park.
Removing the camera roll is a small technical decision and the entire product argument. Once a photo can only come from the moment, an opening checklist stops being an assurance and starts being a record.
